House insignia should be reproduced as shown in the official artwork (that is, colored exterior circle with white interior design; or inverted). The images in the insignia should not be altered. The insignia can be presented as the circular badges by themselves, badges with surrounding text, or badges with text above or below. In these cases the House name should be in the standard Dartmouth typeface (Dartmouth Ruzicka).

In general, House gear should utilize colors consistent with the primary House color or neutral colors (and occasionally Dartmouth green). Some additional colors can be used for alternative designs (see below) but broad adherence to the House color scheme is encouraged. Designs should use the right version of the color (RGB, PMS, CMYK) for the given application.

House names can be presented as full House name "South House," abbreviated "South," or in some cases a nickname "SoHo." Names can be rendered in any typeface. However, if the insignia are included in the design in proximity to the House name, then the names should be in the standard Dartmouth typeface (Dartmouth Ruzicka).

Creative logos using House names can be used. However, these should not incorporate the official House insignia; if House insignia are included on the items, they should be placed in a separate position so as to make the two designs distinct. 

House items can also include a reference to "Dartmouth," or the D-Pine or Lone Pine logo. Where possible, "Dartmouth" should be written as the standard Dartmouth logotype in either Dartmouth green or neutral colors. Use and placement of Dartmouth marks must follow the institutional style guidelines.
