Advocating for Dartmouth
Dartmouth educates the most promising students and prepares them for a lifetime of learning and of responsible leadership through a faculty dedicated to teaching and the creation of knowledge. Its success depends on staying true to and advocating for its core values.

President Sian Beilock visited Washington, D.C., and held meetings with various lawmakers and agency officials including:
- Michael Kratsios, the incoming (pending confirmation) Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where President Beilock discussed Dartmouth’s research strengths;
- Dartmouth alumni U.S. Rep. Brandon Gill ’16 (R-TX) and Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. ’90 (R-NJ), where the president highlighted new campus initiatives launched during her tenure;
- Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, where the two discussed Dartmouth’s commitment to free speech policies.

Dartmouth and Dartmouth Health hold a joint media availability to raise awareness of the severe impact the NIH cuts could have, if instituted. As a result, Vice Provost for Research Dean Madden is featured in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and other local and regional news outlets.
